The Orange Chiefs-West scored on a quarterback sneak late in the

second half to pull out an 8-6 victory over the Huntington Beach Dolphins

in a Jr. All-American Football Junior Pee Wee Division postseason game

Saturday.

The Dolphins took the opening kickoff and scored on Willie Fiscus III’s

16-yard touchdown run during a drive that was kept alive by quarterback

Brian Shrock’s key fourth-and-seven pass to Shane Keating.

Shrock ended the season with a bang by throwing for 267 yards on 15

completions.

Fiscus and Victor Ordonez led the Dolphin defense with 14 tackles apiece,

and Shrock returned a second half fumble 18 yards.

Huntington Beach was clinging to a 6-2 lead when Orange drove to the

Dolphin five-yard line, but the Dolphin defense held in three downs but

on fourth-and-goal from inside the one, the Chiefs were able to get into

the end zone when the Orange quarterback scored on what Huntington Beach

Coach Dave Small said was a controversial play.

“The quarterback looked like he was down before the ball broke the

plane,” he said. “He also was pushed from behind by two running backs,

and I thought that was illegal. Even with the push, I think we still

stopped him.

“I was disappointed with the no-call, but that doesn’t change the fact

that our kids played with all of their heat. It was truly great and

inspired football.”
