OBITUARY
Newport Beach resident Susan B. Seifert died Nov. 30. She was 72.
Share Our Selves free medical and dental clinic in Costa Mesa salutes Ms.
Seifert for the work she accomplished there over the past 14 years. She
put in as many as 80 volunteer hours per month.
Ms. Seifert was a vital, creative individual who helped thousands of
people in her community find access to health carewho otherwise would
have been turned away without the opportunity or hope to survive, work or
in many cases, to live. She was a dedicated volunteer not only for the
Share Our Selves clinic, but for the community. Her bilingual abilities
allowed her to reach out to many more in the community.
Ms. Seifert single-handedly created, developed and maintained a referral
network of more than 70 physicians in 24 specialties. Through the years,
Ms. Seifert had recruited these physicians to volunteer their services to
Share Our Selves patients free of charge. She was also the main contact
with two local hospitals who provide lab testing, special treatment and
surgeries for non-funded patients.
Those involved with Share Our Selves want to thank Ms. Seifert because
she has truly made a difference in the lives of many people in the
community. She displayed the purest representation of a servant to
humanity and to her community.
Ms. Seifert is survived by her daughter, Deborah Perella of Texas, and
her son, Robert Seifert of Mexico. She will be missed by her many friends
in the Newport Beach and Costa Mesa area.
