What am I thankful for? I am thankful to be alive. I am thankful for my

four wonderful grandchildren, and that I have a good job that I commute

to Los Angeles for, which enables me to live in this paradise called

Huntington Beach.

Whoops! I lost my head there for a moment. It’s not paradise anymore, but

I am still thankful.

BEVERLY GAGNE

Huntington Beach

In light of the ever more outrageous antics of the Huntington Beach City

Council and other city officials, each day I give thanks for having moved

from Huntington Beach to Fountain Valley in 1973. The intelligence of our

council and city employees, and the concern for quality of life seems in

sharp contrast to our neighbor city.

I also give thanks for the one shining beacon of common sense in the form

of Ron Davis, who makes valiant efforts to stem what would otherwise be

runaway lunacy in the governing of Huntington Beach.
