KEY NEWCOMERS: Nicole LaPeer (G, Jr.); Julie Tanner (Post, Jr.); Martina

Baldwin (G/Post, Jr.).

COACH’S OUTLOOK: Newidouski, who played at Cal State Long Beach (‘93-’97)

and had previous coaching experience at the lower levels, takes over the

program from Bill Seibert and inherits a squad with no returning

starters. “Our focus,” she said, “is going to be game to game, improving

each and every day. Team unity will be the driving force of our success

on the court. Each player plays with a high intensity, and has a desire

to win. This program is in the stages of redevelopment, focusing on both

the fundamentals and knowledge of the game.”
