NEWPORT BEACH - The Corona del Mar High girls basketball team

overpowered nonleague visitor Los Amigos, 52-21, to win the first season

opener in Coach Elbert Davis’ three seasons Tuesday.

Charlene Quon had 10 points and five assists, Chris Eyre 11 points, and

Kristen McCoy seven points and eight rebounds to pace the hosts.
