Men’s water polo: OCC players honored

COSTA MESA - Orange Coast College men’s water polo freshmen Scott

Butler, Kevin Becker and Jeff Pratt were selected to the All-American

team.

Butler and Becker were first-team, All-Southern California honorees,

while Pratt and Luke Alvarado were selected to the second-team.

For the All-Orange Empire Conference selections, Butler was named the

OEC’s Player of the Year, while Coach Chris Oeding was named Coach of the

Year for the Pirates, who won the conference title this year winning all

five games played.

Butler, Becker, Pratt, Alvarado and Matt Oliver were first team,

all-OEC selections, while Erik Kim, Doug Jacobe, Matt McKinney and Jon

Smalley were selected to OEC’s second team.

The Pirates finished the season 25-10-2 and ranked seventh in the

state.
