Riptide ends draught

Lotey Kinney scored match-high five goals and the Riptide ended a

winless streak at three games Thursday by outlasting Team USA, 13-7, in a

high scoring Howe Division match played at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey

Center in Huntington Beach.

Also burning the nets for the Riptide was Tyler Lakes, who finished with

four goals and an assist.

Joe Murphy added a pair of goals and three assists to the Riptide cause

while Kyle Bezayiff scored once with two assists, Stephen Powers scored

once with an assist, Kinney also had an assist, and goalie Casey Maines

had 20 saves.

The victory moved the Riptide to 4-2-1 in the division standings.

Tanner Marsey led Team USA, which fell to 2-5-1, with three goals and an

assist while Kyle Jeffrey scored twice, Ryan Boyce and Chad Kelleher each

scored once with an assist and Carl Piper added another assist.

Roughnecks 6, Renegades 5

Troy Weis’ two goals and assist led a balanced attack that included a

goal and assist by Marc Cooney, single goals by Taylor Griffin, Brett

Raburn, and Kevin Rannow, and 19 saves by goalie Mikel Ehret as the

Roughnecks (4-2-2) remained unbeaten in five matches.

Like the Roughnecks, the Renegades (6-3), who had a five-game win streak

snapped, used balance to stay in the game as Kevin Hamaguchi scored two

goals, Sam Robinson scored once with three assists, Ricky Kratter had a

goal and assist, and David Imparato, Cameron Moore, and Jeff Woods each

scored once.

Buzzards 7, Raptors 7

Greg Earl and Christopher Torres each scored three goals and had an

assist, Newman Collett scored once with an assist, and Kyle Goode and

Cory Liska each had an assist as the Buzzards (2-3-3) tied their third

consecutive match.

Kevin Morrison scored three times for the Raptors (2-5-1), who also

received two goals and a pair of assists from Kenneth Sabraw, a goal and

assist from Tyler Post, and a goal by Alex Hershberger.

Blastoids 4, Raptors 1

Brent Holden scored two goals and Patrick Lacy and Michael Thistle each

scored once to lead the Blastoids (4-4).
