Boys basketball: Estancia rallies late for win

GARDEN GROVE - Jason Simco had 19 points, including four

three-pointers to lead Estancia High over Katella, 64-57, in the

fifth-place semifinals of the Bolsa Grande Tournament.

Darshaun Garner also contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds for the

Eagles (2-1), who will face University High today at 4:40 p.m. for

fifth-place.

Simco’s fourth three-pointer with just under five minutes remaining

gave the Eagles the lead for good.

The Eagles held onto the lead by hitting 12 of 19 free throws,

including eight late in the game.
