Brockman tops All-Sunset League volleyball list

Kelly Brockman, a senior middle blocker for the Huntington Beach Oiler

girls volleyball team, was named co-MVP in the Sunset League, league

coaches announced Wednesday.

Brockman shared the league’s top honor with Esperanza senior Toni

Anderson, also a middle blocker.

Brockman was one of five Oilers named all-league. The others included

First Team members Serena Bountour, a junior, and senior Amber McCarthy,

as well as Second Team selections Marisa Aston and Turi Wilson, both of

whom are juniors.

Fountain Valley senior Liz Hudson was the other area player to be named

to the eight-member First Team.

Local players dominated the Second Team, which also consisted of eight

players.

The 1999 Sunset League Girls Volleyball Team:
