Equestrian: CdM freshman wins overall championship

COSTA MESA - Corona del Mar’s freshman equestrian team won the

overall team championship at the fourth show of the 1999-2000

Interscholastic Equestrian League season at the Orange County

Fairgrounds.

It was the second show in a row that CdM’s freshmen group prevailed.

In this event, 106 riders competing from 35-40 different schools

participated.

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

Corona del Mar

Sydney Farrer (8th grade) - 4th in freshman working hunters; 9th in

freshman english pleasure; 9th in freshman IEL medal; 10th in freshman equitation over fences.

Julia Koetting (8th grade) - 2nd in freshman IEL medal; 3rd in

freshman working hunters; 10th in freshman english pleasure.

Whitney Roy (8th grade) - 5th in freshman working pleasure; 5th in

freshman equitation over fences.

Anne Schroeder (8th grade) - 4th in freshman english pleasure; 5th in

freshman IEL medal; 9th in freshman equitation over fences; 9th in

freshman working hunters.

Whitney Weidner (8th grade) - 7th in JV IEL medal; 8th in JV

equitation over fences; 8th in JV working hunters.

Jillian Van Ness (10th grade) - 2nd in novice hunters under saddle;

10th in novice english pleasure; 11th in novice hunt seat equitation;

11th in novice equitation over fences.

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

Newport Harbor

Lindsey Dorris (9th grade) - 3rd in JV Working Hunters. 4th in JV

equitation over fences; 6th in JV pleasure.

Lawrence Washington (10th grade) - 5th in western novice trail; 8th in

western novice pleasure; 10th in western novice horsemanship;

Nicole Schultz (11th grade) - 5th in western limit trail; 7th in

western limit showmanship; 8th in western limit pleasure; 8th in western

limit horsemanship.

Tiffany Washington (12th grade) - 9th in western limit IEL stock seat

equitation medal. 10th in western limit showmanship; 10th in western

limit horsemanship; 11th in western limit pleasure.
