Girls basketball: Sea Kings fall in OT
MISSION VIEJO - The Corona del Mar High girls basketball team
surrendered a fourth-quarter lead, then lost, 58-49, in overtime to
Sonora in the pool-play opener of the Mission Viejo Tournament Monday at
Mission Viejo High.
CdM junior Kristen McCoy, who scored a career-high 27 points, hit an
awkward follow shot off a missed free throw with two seconds left in
regulation erasing a two-point Sonora lead created when it rebounded a
missed foul shot, was fouled and made both.
Charlene Quon added 13 for the Sea Kings (3-3), who continue pool play
Thursday at 4 p.m. against Bonita Vista.
