Birdsong Player of the Year

Newport Harbor High senior goalie Tim Birdsong, who helped lead the

Sailors to their third straight Sea View League championship, has been

named Player of the Year by the circuit’s coaches.

Birdsong, a first-team all-league pick as a junior, tops a list of seven

Sailors named all-league.

The first-team honorees from Harbor are juniors Peter Belden and Ryan

Cook, as well as senior Brenden Hansen.

Seniors Robert Weiner and Paul Kepner, as well as junior Steve

Jendrusina, represented Harbor on the second team.
