Williams leads Hurricanes

The Hurricanes needed each and every one of Gregory Williams four

goals Friday to get past the Breaking Bruisers in a high-scoring Atom

Club Division contest won by the Hurricanes, 10-8, at Coast 2 Coast

Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Earlier in the week, Williams also had scored a team-best three goals in

a 10-0 blanking of the Stampede.

Friday’s contest saw Darren Nowick score three goals with an assist,

Rocco Grimaldi score once with three assists, Dustin Nowick had a goal

and assist, and Brock Bowden score off a Jordan Rohr feed as the

Hurricanes upped their division mark to 5-3-2.

They will enter the playoffs as the division’s third seed.

The Breakout Bruisers, who, at 3-6-1, still qualified for the playoffs as

the No. 5 seed. Dylan Lamphear tied Williams for scoring honors with four

goals, brothers Tyler and Shane Lakes each scored two goals with an

assist, and Sam Robinson collected two assists in defeat.

In other games:

Vipers 9, Predators 5

Seven players got into the scoring column for the Vipers (7-2-1), with

David Wear leading the way with two goals and two assists.

Others starring on offense were Trevor Carroll with two goals and an

assist, Mark Miller with one goal and three assists, Taylor Castle and

Travis Wear each had a goal and assist, and both Stephen Nelson and Bryce

Courtney scored.

The Vipers closed out the regular season in second place.

Daniel Gibson’s two goals paced the Predators, who finished at 4-4-2 and

in fourth place.

The playoff-bound Predators also received a goal and assist from Adam

Duarte, goals from both Paul Leigh and Keith Dickson, and assists from

Curtis Stollings, Chayce Yokoyama, and Matt Deutchmann.

LBZ 11, Stampede 4

With the division title already in hand, LBZ put the finishing touch on

an 8-2 regular season as Paul Anderson ripped the nets for five goals.

Other contributors included Donald Kohler with two goals and an assist,

Nick Dlugosz with two scores, Russell Peltier with three assists, Michael

Mendez with a pair of assists, Eric Lyon with a goal, and brother Phillip

Lyon with an assist.

The Stampede, which ended the regular season without a win in 10 games,

received single goals from Jeremy Jennings, Matthew Janssen, and Andrew

Jackson, with Jackson also getting two assists.

Coast 2 Coast Hockey will host championship finals today in the following

divisions: Atom Club, Lemieux, Patrick, Wales, Howe, Smythe, Norris East,

Norris West, Campbell, Adams, Mite Club, Squirt Club, and PeeWee Club.

Competition begins at 9 a.m. and runs all day.

Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center is located at 5555 McFadden Ave. in
