CORONA DEL MAR -- She has a new man every Christmas. One year, she was

with George Bush. Another, Tom Selleck. This season, she has her arm

around John Wooden.

Diane Coltrane, redheaded real estate agent and philanthropist, sends 400

Christmas cards each year, featuring a photograph of her posing with a

male celebrity, to her friends and family.

“It’s always a surprise to see who my man will be,” said Coltrane, who,

when asked her age, would only say she is over 50.

In fact, Coltrane has kept the mystery man -- which has included famous

astronauts, athletes, actors and politicians -- a secret even from her

two daughters and sons for all 11 years that she’s mailed the gag cards.

“I drive the cards by to my daughter’s once the others are in the mail,”

she said.

Although she is single, Coltrane said she has never really dated any of

the men.

“It’s just for fun,” she said. “It puts a smile on my friends’ faces when

they open the cards.”

Coltrane meets the personalities -- including Barry Goldwater, Lou Holtz,

Bob Hope, Dan Quayle and Buzz Aldrin -- at charity receptions. And she

goes to a lot of parties.

She is a member of the corporate board of United Way, executive board of

the Long Beach Grand Prix, the boards of Community Hospital, Queen Mary,

the Ritz’s Club 39, Boys % Girls Club, the Newport Beach Rotary Club --

not to mention she’s the Vice Commodore of Rotary Yachting International.

“I do it all because I love it,” she said. “And I love everybody.”
