with Mandy Clayton and Dianne Pulido each scoring 14 for the Sailors.

CdM’s girls soccer team wins two games in the Ocean View Tournament. It

defeats St. Joseph, 3-0, and then beats Laguna Hills, 2-1, with two goals

from Kathryn Rice.

Paul McDaniels comes back from the flu and scores 17 points to help

Estancia’s boys basketball team rout Vista, 101-52, in its first game in

the Daily Pilot Christmas Classic.

McDaniels and Guty Heredia then lead the Eagles in their 62-44 win over

Long Beach Jordan. Estancia eventually falls in the championship game to

Edison, 54-45.

CdM’s Warren Johnson’s basket with 1:58 left in the game breaks a tie as

the Sea Kings’ boys basketball team defeats Laguna Hills, 64-57, in the

Daily Pilot Christmas Classic.

Eddie Martinez scores 18 points to lead Newport Harbor’s boys basketball

team to an 88-46 romp over Katella in the Canyon Tournament,

Estancia’s girls basketball team also defeats Katella, 66-63, in

overtime. Patrice Lumpkin scores 27 for the Eagles.

Costa Mesa’s girls basketball team destroys Irvine, 72-22. Thuy Nguyen

and Olivia DeCamilli each score 14 to lead the Mustangs.
