Orange County Championships

Following three days of round-robin competition involving some of

the counties top girls basketball teams, the inaugural Edison Orange

County Championships concludes today with four games.

With the eight teams (host Edison, Troy, San Clemente, Rosary, Foothill,

El Toro, Mater Dei, and Laguna Hills) divided equally among two pools,

the three previous days of competition will determine each team’s

standing in its respective pool.

Today’s schedule is as follows:

3:30 p.m. - Pool A No. 4 vs. Pool B No. 4

5 p.m. - Pool A No. 3 vs. Pool B No 3

6:30 p.m. - Pool A No. 2 vs. Pool B No. 2

8 p.m. - Championship final: Pool A No. 1 vs. Pool B No. 1

With senior center Michelle Zylstra and sophomore guard Bianca Ziemann

each scoring 16 points and junior guard Ashleigh Noda contributing 11

more, Edison opened tournament play Monday with a 54-50 victory over

Rosary in a match up between a pair of Pool A teams.
