Men’s basketball: OCC knocks off Whatcom

SAN DIEGO - Dave Elliott scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds

to lead Orange Coast College to an 83-79 win over Whatcom College in the

consolation semifinals of the San Diego Mesa Tournament Wednesday.

David Castleton, who scored 41 points on Tuesday, and Duc Nguyen each

scored 14 points for the Pirates (10-4). Nguyen had three three-pointers

in the game.

The Pirates will advance to the consolation finals against tourney

host San Diego Mesa today at 2 p.m.
