We talked to people at Costa Mesa’s Metro Pointe last week to find out

about their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they had to say:

“I’m not going to make any New Year’s resolutions. I’ve pooped out on too

many in the past. I’m just going to be the best I can and say something

nice to someone everyday. Life passes too quickly!”

JOANNE POOLE

Trabuco Canyon

“Lose 40 pounds in 12 weeks. Seriously. It can be done. Find a career

that I am happy in. ... So now I have to do the “Body for Life” thing

because I’m in the paper.”

MARIA BENSON

Costa Mesa

“I don’t really have a New Year’s resolution. It’s just a continuation of

my goals from last year. Spiritual, education, career.”

ELAINE DIERSING

Huntington Beach

“I was thinking about it last night at work and I’ve decided that I’m not

going to make any resolutions. But I would like to make time to customize

my truck. I would also like to study harder and get better grades.”

ANDREW OLSEN

Santa Ana

“I haven’t really thought about it yet. I would probably like to make

more money, though. That way I could go more places and have more fun.”

RYAN PATE

Irvine

“This morning I was noticing that I wake up everyday feeling guilty about

what I didn’t accomplish the day before. I want to wake up feeling

excited and ready to tackle the day instead of feeling guilty. I have the

planner, I just need to do what I say I am going to do.”TERI SHAGOURY
