Newport Beach-based Carl E. Wynn Foundation recently awarded Easter Seals

$5,000 to support its Orange County Summer Camp Program for children with

disabilities. Camp activities such as horseback riding, animal-assisted

therapy, arts and crafts, and field trips for campers ages 5 to 22 will

be funded by the grant.

“Children who go to summer camp have fun, experience new and exciting

activities, and make friends that last a lifetime, and kids with

disabilities are no different,” said Vicki Connely, Easter Seals director

of program development. “By providing this grant, the Wynn Foundation is

truly giving Orange County children with special needs a chance to enjoy

one of life’s most wonderful experiences.”

The Easter Seals camp takes place in August each year.

Developmentally, physically and emotionally challenged children are given

the opportunity to learn social skills through the Easter Seals Orange

County Summer Camp. Other benefits of the camp include the enhancement of

a child’s physical coordination, self-confidence and creativity.

Easter Seals is a nonprofit organization that provides creative solutions

for children and adults with disabilities to more than 100 programs and services in Southern California.
