William R. Mirams, a longtime Newport Beach resident, died peacefully of

natural causes at his home on Dec. 14. He was 91.

Mr. Mirams was born on April 30, 1908, in St. Albans, England. He worked

in the Grain Exchange in Winnipeg, Canada, before moving to the United

States in the 1920s.

Mr. Mirams joined The Griffith Company in Los Angeles at that time. The

Griffith Company was instrumental in developing Lido Isle. While with the

company, Mr. Mirams managed the “Richards Complex” on Lido. He was with

The Griffith Company for more than 65 years.

Mr. Mirams was a member of the Newport Harbor Yacht Club, the Irvine

Country Club and Big Canyon Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Jerri, of Newport Beach; son, William, of

Idaho; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.In lieu of

flowers, Mr. Miram’s family is asking that donations be made to the

Salvation Army, his favorite charity.
