Athlete of the Month: Earnest scored 21 points and had four steals in

Thursday’s championship game of the Costa Mesa Classic, won by the

Mustangs, 54-42, over Villa Park. On defense, Earnest held Mission

Viejo’s top scorer, Meghan O’Donohue to 12 points in the semifinals. In

the finals, she held Villa Park’s top scorer, Lauren Yabon, to only four

first-half points and 15 points for the game.
