Girls soccer: CdM nips Laguna Beach

LAGUNA BEACH - Jenny Long’s goal with four minutes remaining gave

Corona del Mar High’s girls soccer team a 3-2 win over host Laguna Beach

in Thursday night’s Pacific Coast League opener.

CdM (8-4-2), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division IV, trailed,

2-1, with 17 minutes remaining before rallying to win.

Molly O’Meara scored with 11 minutes left to tie the game, setting up

Long’s heroics.

Allison Harvey gave CdM a 1-0 lead going into the second half.

Britta Vogele had four saves in goal for the Sea Kings, who will host

Estancia Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
