The article titled “Fire guts Corona del Mar apartment” in the Jan. 11

edition of the Daily Pilot incorrectly reported the timing of an

electrical fuse failure at an apartment complex in which a fire damaged

one unit Monday. The power outage was not caused by the fire. An

electrical short occurred at around noon the same day and prompted

residents to light candles in the interim. Authorities believe a candle

may have started the fire, which caused about $100,000 in damage.
