A man imprisoned for raping a Huntington Beach teenager in 1976 is

scheduled to have a parole hearing Friday, said officials for the Orange

County District Attorney’s office.

Robert Woods, 51, has been in prison for 15 years, since he was convicted

of kidnapping and raping an 18-year-old woman, Deputy Dist. Atty. Jim

Tanizaki said. Woods attacked the woman two months after his release from

prison for another kidnapping and rape, he said.

“He is a really bad guy,” district attorney spokeswoman Tori Richards

said.

At the hearing in Vacaville, the prosecutor will argue that Woods should

stay in prison. Woods already has been denied parole at previous

hearings, Tanizaki said.

“We believe that he’s still a danger to the community,” Tanizaki said.
