Burnt Biscuits a winner, 12-7

The Burnt Biscuits moved into a three-way tie for second place in

the Peewee Club Division standings Monday, knocking the US Marines out of

first place at the same time, with a 12-7 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline

Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

The Burnt Biscuits (1-1) executed a balanced attack to near perfection as

P.J. Kavaya, Jeff Barnett, and Raymond Macias each scored three goals,

and Adam Freede (one goal) led the way with four assists.

Josh Laricchia scored two goals and assisted three other scores, Jared

Gibo scored three goals, and Derrick Burnett added two more goals for the

US Marines, who dropped to 1-1.

Laricchia, who also plays for the Pee Wee A California Comets and the

Mission OC Blades 87 team, helped lead the Comets in December to the

Winter Classic championship at Disney Ice in Anaheim. At last weekend’s

North America Roller Hockey Championships (Winter Nationals) in Las

Vegas, Laricchia ended the tournament with 13 points (four goals, nine

assists, including one goal and an assist in the Squirt Under-12 final),

to play a key role in the OC Blades’ win over the St. Louis Blast in the

championship match.

Blades 88 8, Wings 7

Rhett Rakhshani powered his way for four goals and three assists,

Jonathan Gibo scored a goal along with a match-high four assists, and

Ryan Santana also had a pair of assists to lead Blades 88 (1-1).

NORRIS DIVISION

Bulldogs 5, Stars 3

Blake Jirges scored twice with an assist, Jeff Fuzzard scored once with

an assist, and Jarrett Powers and Bobby Sowma each scored once to lead

the Bulldogs (2-0); Nathan Sutton scored twice and Bradley Kachigan added

a goal for the Stars (0-2).

Jets 8, The Masters 3

Conner Bauman netted three goals, Cody Shlegel and Daniel Ane each scored

twice, and Brandon Bauman picked up a pair of assists for the Jets (2-0);

Robert Brothers, Kyle Carter, and Will Kroschel all scored for The

Masters (0-1).

KAOS 8, Earthquakes 5

William De Witt poured in four goals, Donovan Gonzalez and Jared

Hackworth both tallied two goals, and Jim Martin assisted two scores for

victorious KAOS (1-1).

Thunderblades 4, Stars 2

Joshua Gane scored twice with an assist, Kyle Evans had a goal and

assist, Eric Grant scored once, and Lance Unrau added an assist for the

Thunderblades (1-0).
