HUNTINGTON BEACH
Adult Day Services offers therapeutic programs for memory-impaired
adults. Volunteers are needed to assist with group activities, clerical
and reception work, board committees and advocacy. Call 593-9630.
The Oak View Family Literacy Program is looking for enthusiastic
volunteers interested in becoming literacy tutors. Training will teach
techniques and activities for helping low literate Latino adults to read,
write and speak English and to read to their children. Preregistration is

Ocean View Little League Challenger Division is a baseball program for

Seniors Outreach Center serves the frail and homebound elderly.
Volunteers will be trained to operate a city vehicle to provide
transportation for senior citizens. Five hours per week is required. Call

South Coast Collective Huntington Beach Site works to prevent tobacco use
among teens through the Stop Tobacco Access to Kids Enforcement Act.
Volunteers ages 14 to 16 are needed to help ensure that businesses comply
with the state law prohibiting tobacco sales to anyone under age 18.

HelpLine. Flexible hours are available, and some may even volunteer from

Salvation Army Thrift Stores provide the sole source of funding for The
Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center, the largest drug and
