POLICE SEARCH FOR DRIVER IN FATAL ACCIDENT

Investigators are still searching for a hit-and-run driver who killed a

pedestrian in Sunset Beach on Sunday.

Shortly after 11 p.m., Evelyn Sinclair, 43, of San Carlos was struck by a

burgundy compact car as she walked across Pacific Coast Highway near 25th

Street, said Denise Medina, a spokeswoman for the California Highway

Patrol. The area was not designated as a crosswalk, she said.

Authorities believe the car, driven by a woman, may have had a black top

and a broken left rearview mirror, she said.
