BULL IN A CHINA CLOSET

If resident Bill Bernard had to guess, Mayor Dave Garofalo’s astrology

sign is the Taurus.

When you consider his track record in office, Bernard said Garofalo has

“become like a bull in a china closet.”

At least he means well, Bernard said.

“I feel sorry for him,” he said. “He tries so hard, but he blunders, me

thinks.”

RUNNING OUT OF PATIENCE

School board meetings can often test a person’s patience. At a Huntington

Beach City School District board meeting last week, some board members

began to lose their patience after it took 45 minutes to approve the

previous meeting’s minutes.

At one point, the picking apart and scrutiny became too much for trustee

Brian Garland to bear.

“Let’s stop splitting hairs and everybody’s time,” Garland declared. “We

are wasting the district and audiences’ time.”

THE BUSY LIFE OF A SENIOR

At the last Fountain Valley City Council meeting, Mayor Guy Carrozzo

presented active senior Warren Diaz an award from the city for his 14

years of hard work and service on the Orange County Senior Citizen’s

Advisory Council. After reading off a long list of Diaz’s activities,

Carrozzo quipped: “And some people think we just sit around watching

television and playing bingo.”
