Region 143 Gold All-Stars take two

Region 143’s unbeaten Division 3 (girls Under-14) Gold All-Star team continued its success last Saturday in the Area 11-K tournament with

3-1, 4-0 wins, respectively, over neighboring Regions 117 and 55. In

posting a 5-0 tournament mark thus far, Region 143 has outscored its five

opponents, 19-1. A balanced scoring attack has featured goals by 10

different players: Kirsten Bolt, Blair Connors, Annita DeGiglio, Nikki

Frieborg, Whitney Gueta, Ann Ludolph, Natalie Meyers, Jessica Shannon,

Lauren Swensen, and Krista Thompson. A standout defense has been led by

Danae Lucas, Erin Silverlake, Ashley Beanblossom, and goalies Alexandra

Jaspers and Kristin Coleman.

The Region 143 HB Lightning, a girls Under-14 team which finished

its regular season unbeaten, went on to capture third place (out of 18

teams) in the Advanced Play Program’s Division 3 postseason tournament

held at the World Cup Training Center in Mission Viejo.

HB Lightning finished the year with a record of 16-3-3, which included 10

shutout victories, and outscored its opponents, 59-13. Members of the

team include Jessica Abdou, Megan Ball, Shauna Brown, Tara Fox, Aubrie

Fuette, Jessica Goud, Tori Heglar, Gena Johnson, Nina Kratter, Caitlin

McGinnis, Ann-Mari Osgood, Janet Peterson, Hilary Pohlman, Lindsey

Rodgers, and Lauren Stimmler.
