Second quarter surge carries Oilers to victory
The Oilers outscored the Trailblazers, 18-2, in the second quarter
and used that outburst to post a 48-37 victory in West Huntington Beach
National Junior Basketball play at Huntington Beach High.
The Oilers, who improved to 8-1, also tamed the Trailblazers by utilizing
a full court press to take control of the game.
Trevor Schuesler and Jeff Holliday combined to score 28 points to lead
the Oilers, who were led defensively by Andrew Mellon and Tim Hoffman.
Tony Moses scored 18 points and Alex Hickerson finished with eight to
pace the Trailblazers.

Adam Pierce, Brian Cranmer, and Brett Sterbens combined for 19 points as
the Bruins survived a tough defensive battle to improve to 8-1 overall.
