From the playwright of “Death of a Salesman” and “The Crucible” comes “A
View From the Bridge,” a story of immigrants in Brooklyn, at the Newport
Theatre Arts Center. The play runs through Feb. 27. Show times are 8 p.m.
Thursdays through Saturdays with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are

Art and free karaoke: a difficult combination to resist. The AAA Electra
Open Forum Co-Op Art Museum and Gallery will host an artist’s reception
Sunday with work by Christopher Leonhardt, karaoke and refreshments. The

TUESDAY
Sail away with The Newport Harbor Nautical Museum, which is holding an
exhibit on the history of traditional navigation techniques and
watercraft used by the island people of the Pacific. The free exhibit,
which features ancient pottery, war clubs, paddles, tools and decorative
items from many Pacific Rim cultures, runs through June 18. The museum is
open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is at 151 E. Coast Highway, Newport

WEDNESDAYA virtuosic evening is on tap when The Philharmonic Society
sponsors an appearance at the Orange County Performing Arts Center by
renowned violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Mutter’s
program, which includes Bartok’s “Second Sonata” and Webern’s “Four
Pieces,” will highlight classics from the violin repertoire of the late
20th century. Tickets are $25 to $45. The Center is at 600 Town Center
