Men’s volleyball: Pirates roll over San Diego Mesa

COSTA MESA - The San Diego Mesa College men’s volleyball team

learned a valuable lesson in Friday’s Orange Empire Conference with host

Orange Coast: You can’t teach height.

With nearly a three-inch height advantage average per player, the Pirates

made short work of the Olympians, winning 15-4, 15-0, 15-11.

Dave Moser led the Pirates (6-1, 1-1 in conference) with 13 kills, while

B.J. Lightvoet added 11 kills and Brad Evans chipped in with 10.

Miguel Monterola led San Diego Mesa (1-1 in conference) with 13 kills.

OCC continues OEC play Wednesday night against Palomar at home. Game time

is 7 p.m.
