The HB Blue of Region 56 had their bid for an Area 11-K title

denied by Region 55, which came away with a 2-1 victory Sunday in AYSO

boys Under-10 Gold All-Star tournament action at Peterson Elementary

School in Huntington Beach.

HB Blue earned a 1-1 halftime tie on the strength of an Alex Payette goal

and the two blocked shot performance of goalie Brett Webber, but Region

55 went ahead to stay on a goal in the second half, despite eight saves

by Webber.

Payette had two shot attempts and Kenny Miller one in the final half for

HB Blue.

Webber also turned in a solid effort in a 1-1 tie with Region 5, blocking

seven first half shot attempts while turning away eight shots on goal in

the second half to preserve the tie.

Fountain Valley’s 1-0 halftime lead was wiped away by Jeff Schones’

second half goal, which put the teams even at 1-1.

HB Blue is comprised of Payette, Webber, Schones, Troy Bosiljevac, Aashik

Chela, Andrew Davis, Cam Harlin, David Johnson, Shawn McEachin, Adam
