Region 143 girls win Area title

The Region 143 girls Under-14 Gold All-Star soccer team captured

first place in the AYSO Area 11-K tournament by getting a tie and a

victory on the final weekend of play.

Following a scoreless tie with Region 117, Nikki Frieborg scored the only

goal of the match in a 1-0 decision over Region 55, a win which capped a

9-0-1 record in tournament action.

In 10 games, the Region 143 defense was overpowering and the offense

potent in outscoring its opponents, 32-2.

The Region 143 Gold All-Stars, who next will compete at the Section

playoffs March 11-12 at UC Irvine, consist of Frieborg, Ashley

Beanblossom, Kirsten Bolt, Kristin Coleman, Blair Connors, Annita

DeGiglio, Whitney Gaeta, Alexandra Jaspers, Danae Lucas, Ann Ludolph,

Natalie Meyers, Jessica Shannon, Erin Silverlake, Lauren Swensen, and

Krista Thompson.
