AYSO Region 97: Ameba playing in Sectionals

IRVINE - The Ameba, an AYSO Region 97 boys under 14 soccer team

from Newport Beach will compete in the eight-team Southern California

AYSO Section 11 Championship this weekend at UCI.

Teams from Santa Barbara to Imperial Beach will be on hand for the

two-day event.

The Ameba, currently riding a 16-game winning streak, will take on

Fountain Valley today at 10:45 a.m. and San Marcos at 3:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the Ameba will battle San Juan Capistrano at 10:45 a.m. and if

they reach the championship game, it will take place at 2 p.m.
