Fountain Valley Youth Baseball to hold Opening Day ceremonies

The SouthCoast Soccer Club will hold tryouts for all interested

players on Sunday, March 12, at Edison High.

The tryout session will be held from 1-2:30 p.m.

Tryouts originally were scheduled for March 5, but were rained out.

Opening Day for Fountain Valley Youth Baseball will be held on

Sat., March 11, at Mile Square Park. Ceremonies begin at 8 a.m. and will

include a pancake breakfast, sports, clothes, and jewelry booths, games,

and raffles. Exhibition gams will also be played throughout the day.

The 1st Annual Jason Stuart Golf Tournament will be held Monday,

March 13, at SeaCliff County Club in Huntington Beach. The event is being

held to help fund experimental treatments for Amyotrophic Lateral

Sclerosis (ALS) -- more commonly known as Lou Gerhig’s Disease. The

21-year-old Stuart, son of ice skating coaches Jim and Kathy Stuart, was

diagnosed with ALS in October of 1998, and is markedly younger than most

victims of ALS. The golf tournament begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start

and will be followed by lunch and an auction. SeaCliff Country Club is
