Eagles glide past Jets, 7-5

Robby Leiter slapped home five goals Thursday and the Maranatha

Christian Eagles slipped past the Maranatha Christian Jets, 7-5, in

Junior Hockey Pros Copper Division action.

The Jets’ J.P. Ballantyne matched Leiter in goals scored with five, but

late goals by Dakota Sprenger and Joel Allen proved to be the difference

in the match as the Eagles pulled out the two-goal victory.

Junior Hockey Pros runs hockey leagues for local elementary schools,

which are located throughout both Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley.

Shoreline 5, Carden/Grace Lutheran 4

The play of Steven Huang in goal helped Shoreline hang on for the close

victory over Carden/Grace Lutheran.

Roy Ahn and Dylan Tompkins each scored twice as Shoreline successfully

began defense of its 1999 division title.

Spencer Griffen of Carden scored twice with an assist to lead his team.

BRONZE DIVISION

Pegasus 8, Grace Lutheran 3

Raffi Tchmedyian netted a match-best four goals and three assists, Nick

Flamson scored twice, and both Alex George and Brendan Davis scored once

for The Pegasus School.

Tyler Clark paced Grace Lutheran with two goals.

Shoreline 8, Maranatha Christian 3

Mischa Chang burned the nets for seven goals, Matt James scored once with

an assist, and a Josh Dominick assist closed out the scoring as Shoreline

successfully opened the new season.

Chris Nagle led Maranatha Christian with two goals and an assist, and

Joshua Rahaeuse scored added the final goal.

SILVER DIVISION

Grace Lutheran 10, Maranatha Christian 4

Jonathan Schugg registered a hat trick, Harry Graves scored four goals,

defenseman Jarrid Johnston scored two goals from the point, and Michael

Arch scored his first goal of the year as Grace Lutheran rallied to

victory.

Maranatha Christian’s scoring consisted of three goals by Robert Joselyn

and one by Derek Rosas.

Pegasus 4, Maranatha Christian 3

Vartan Tchmedyian scored two goals with an assist and brother, Raffi,

scored once with an assist to lead The Pegasus School, which also

received a single goal by Eric Mirowitz.

Joshua Kuhn scored once with an assist and Robert Joselyn and Sean

Mandall each scored once to lead the Stars.
