Baseball: Pirates’ woes continue, 15-7
Tony Altobelli
CYPRESS - The road has not suited the Orange Coast College baseball
team very well in Orange Empire Conference action.
Strapped with an unusual five-game stretch away from Wendell Pickens
Field, the Pirates lost their third straight OEC road game, 15-7, to host
Cypress.
The loss is the fifth in a row for OCC (5-11, 0-5 in conference) as the
team’s earned run average continues to soar.
Eric Wiethorn went 2 for 5 including his third home run of the season and
had two RBIs, while Chris Laws went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
The Pirates travel to Huntington Beach to take on Golden West Saturday at
noon.
