AYSO Region 97: CdM takes top spot in 11-Q region

CORONA DEL MAR - Corona del Mar boys under 14 All-Star team from

AYSO Region 97 finished in first place in Region 11-Q and has advanced to

the Regional Finals at UCI this weekend.

Corona del Mar topped the playoffs with 77 points, topping North Irvine

with 62 points.

The offense is led by Chris Ringstrom, Dominic Rubino, Jonathon Cabin and

Fernando Fernandez.

Helping the offense is the strong midfield play of Taylor Munz, Ross

Dillon, Sammy Fankuchen, Jonathon Ruffalo, Kurtis Luebke and Andrew

Fowler, with Kyle Jung, Hendrik Broekelschen, Zum Thind and Matt

Harrisson leading the defense.

CdM, led by goalkeepers Jeremy Beecher and Harrisson, have allowed only

17 goals, while scoring 41.

The winner of the this weekend’s Regional Playoffs will advance to the

State Finals at Irvine Valley College March 18-19.
