Bulldogs put bite on Earthquakes, 8-4

The Bulldogs maintained their narrow lead in the Norris Division

standings Friday by doubling up on the Earthquakes by an 8-4 score at

Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Jeff Fuzzard scored three goals to lead all scorers, and the Bulldogs

gained their third victory in succession in improving their record to

7-2.

Jarrett Powers also had a big game with two goals and two assists, Luke

Hamagiwa netted a pair of goals and an assist, Hunter Nelson scored once,

and Blake Jirges had an assist to complete the Bulldogs scoring.

Goalie Kevin Christi was in on 25 saves.

Jared Musacchio’s two goals and assist led the Earthquakes (4-5), who had

a two-game win streak snapped. Other scorers were Bryce Keizer and Ramiro

Pimentel with one goal apiece, and Ryan Wall with an assist.

Thunder Blades 3, Jets 2

Goalie Mark Kosko was credited with 19 saves to lead a tough defensive

stand for the second-place Thunder Blades, who bounced back from

consecutive losses to improve to 6-3-1. Lance Unrau scored one goal with

an assist, Matthew Finlayson and Joshua Gane each scored once, and

Danielle Miller handed out an assist for the winners.

Daniel Ane scored once, Cody Schlegel had an assist, and goalie Jamie

Schlegel stopped 24 shot for the Jets (4-4-1).

Stars 10, The Masters 2

Trevor Pirtle’s three goals topped a Stars scoring attack that featured

two goals from both Bryan Bennett and Aaron Sutton, and assists by both

Bradley Kachigan and Nathan Sutton. Goalie Jake McPeck had 21 saves for

the Stars, who put a halt to a two-game skid in improving to 4-5 overall.

Single goals went to Robert Brothers and Nicholas Capriccio, Kyle Carter

picked up an assist, and goalie D.J. Mihalik had 26 saves for The

Masters, who slipped to 2-7.
