Volcanoes erupt for sixth straight win

The Volcanoes are the red-hot team in the Smythe West Division.

Thursday at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach, Klaus

Halvorson scored twice with two assists and Kyle Yamaoka also scored two

goals to lead their team in a 7-4 victory over division rival Kaos.

Nicholas Delgleize also scored once with an assist, Garrett Gardinier

also found the net, and Jake Marsey collected three assists as the

Volcanoes, after an 0-2-1 start to the season, won their sixth

consecutive match.

Kyle Steinbrick scored three goals, Benjamin Irvin scored once, and Bryan

Marony added an assist for Kaos, which dropped its sixth straight match

in falling to 1-7-1.

In other games:

Flames 6, HB Surf 1

Goalie Patrick Lacy recorded 15 saves and Jason Gonzell poured in the

day’s top scoring output, five goals, to lead the Flames, now 2-3-4

overall.

HB Surf, which lost its third straight outing, scored on an Andrew

Jackson goal in falling to 2-4-3.

SMYTHE EAST DIVISION

Sabres 5, Blades 2

Garrett Ono scored once with an assist to lead the Sabres (5-3-1) to

their third win in a row.

The Blades, who still lead the division at 6-2-1 despite having a

four-match win streak snapped, received single goals from Jacob Hill and

Christian Williams, as well as two assists by Jonathan Little.

Hornets 9, Timberwolves 3

Donald Watts, the Hornets’ top scorer with 22 goals, scored twice with

three assists, Brock Bowden scored three times with an assist, Brittany

Downer and Andrew Kee each scored twice, and Cody Bertrand had a pair of

assists as the Hornets improved to 5-3-1.

The Timberwolves (2-5-2) had their scoring spread out among Tip

Donaldson, Aaron Fulmer, and Jordan Wallace, each of whom scored once.
