Crew: Alumni weekend set for OCC.

NEWPORT BEACH - Legends of crews gone by will return to the Orange

Coast College Boathouse tonight and Sunday for the 2000 Alumni Weekend.

The festivities begin with an alumni dinner tonight at the Boathouse

beginning at 7.

The cost is $20 per person and the dinner will honor the crews from the

Class of 1970, 1980 and 1990.

On Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m., this year’s Pirates’ crew will take to

the water for a number of 600-meter “preview” races.

The Pirates will kickoff the 2000 season officially on March 25 when they

host San Diego State, UCLA and the University of San Diego.

There will also be 2000 Edition Coast Crew sweatshirts, signature hats,

polo shirts and T-shirts available at special alumni prices.

Due to Sunday sailing classes, parking may be scarce. If need be, there

is metered parking available at the public lot on the north side of

Pacific Coast Highway, behind the MargaritaVille restaurant.

The OCC Boathouse is located at 1801 W. Pacific Coast Highway in Newport

Beach.
