White Sox outlast A’s, 13-11

In a game where the lead changed hands throughout, the White Sox

came up with enough runs to finally outlast the A’s, 13-11, in Majors Division weekend play at Huntington Valley Little League.

John Pollock led the White Sox charge with a pair of RBI hits, Charles

Pearson had an RBI double, and Shane Rooney had a hit to go along with

two RBI.

The A’s were powered by Jordan Marquette, who went 3 for 4 with a pair of

doubles, a triple, and five RBI, and Curtis Crandell, who finished 3 for

4 with a double and three RBI.

In other games:

Angels 9, Diamondbacks 4

Ricky Pineda hand an RBI double and a single, Frankie Mead had two hits,

Sean Lavenau drove in two runs, and Kirk Hodgeman had an RBI single for

the Angels; Jon Von Dyke went 3 for 3 and Derek Demum doubled among two

hits for the Diamondbacks.

Rangers 4, Mariners 2

The Rangers received an RBI double and single from Max Hirsch and a

double and RBI single from Ryan Van Herk, while pitchers Van Herk, Dave

Mendoza, and Robby Adolph combined on a one-hit, 14-strikeout

performance; Lucas Aumiller’s double accounted for the Mariners offense.

MINOR A DIVISION

Mets 14, Rangers 0

Race Parmenter pitched a complete game no-hitter, and also singled, Chase

Barnes went 3 for 4 with a triple and double, and Liam McGinn went 3 for

3 with a triple to pace the Mets.

Cardinals 10, Indians 5

Sam Olive led the Cardinals offense with two doubles, a single, and three

RBI, Nick Becker had two doubles and two RBI, and Tony Ciarelli went 3

for 3; Michael Bogard went 2 for 3 to lead the Indians.

Marlins 11, Yankees 6

Both Justin Draeger and Drew Duffy doubled among three hits, Trevor

Briggs had two hits, and A.J. Hicks tripled for the Marlins; Dane Sierra

went 3 for 3 and both Tommy Hennekam and Jess Hallford doubled among two

hits for the Yankees.
