Marquette’s no-hitter powers A’s victory

Jordan Marquette pitched a complete game no-hitter Saturday and

also came up with an RBI and doubled to power the A’s to a 5-0 Majors

Division victory over the Diamondbacks at Huntington Valley Little

League’s Inspiration Field.

Curtis Crandell also sparked the A’s offense with a two--RBI double,

Kevin Oakley had and RBI single, and Evan Strand also drove home a run.

In other games:

Rangers 10, Angels 4

Sean Tierney put the momentum back on the side of the undefeated Rangers

with a two-RBI double, Aaron Matillo went 2 for 2 for, and Ryan VanHerk

threw three scoreless innings for the winners; Ricky Pineda went 3 for 4

to lead the Angels.

White Sox 6, Mariners 3

Shane Rooney had an RBI triple and also singled, Shawn Eley went 2 for 2,

and pitchers John Pollock and Trevor Rock gave up just three hits for the

White Sox; Lucas Aumiller had an RBI double and singled, and Nate Hill

singled for the Mariners.

JUNIOR DIVISION

Dodgers 15, Mets 7

Winning pitcher Collin Ballester had a double and single, as did teammate

Jake Sellberg, and both Jarod Cipriano and Jimmy Romero doubled for the

Dodgers; Seth Kramer singled twice and Troy Fleck tripled for the Mets.

Indians 3, Mariners 2

Andrew Mozeleski doubled home the winning run and also singled, Kevin

Brink singled and scored twice -- including the winning run, Luke

Hazelwood doubled, and winning pitcher Joel Kaluzny was overpowering with

15 strikeouts along with two hits for the Indians; Robbie Hooten singled

with two RBI and Josh Gitsham also singled for the Mariners.
