Brewers rally big to topple Dodgers, 11-5

Trailing by two runs in the early stages of Saturday’s Majors

Division meeting with the Dodgers, the Brewers scored eight unanswered

runs and went on to record an 11-5 victory in Robinwood Little League

action.

The Brewers fell behind, 5-3, through two innings of play before

rallying. Daniel Jones provided one big hit during the comeback with a

hit a bases loaded double in the fifth, Scott Schauer and Damon Bressler

each finished with two hits, and Schauer came on in relief of starting

pitcher Tommy Baird to pitch the final three innings, where he gave up

just one hit and struck out eight.

Both Chad Wojno and John Kustura had key hits for the Dodgers.

In other games:

Braves 6, Cardinals 0

Pitchers Todd Locken and Cory Kotler combined on a two-hit shutout for

the Braves, with Kotler striking out six in three innings of work. Locken

and Stephen Powers hit solo home runs, and both Kotler and Kevin Powers

each finished with two hits. Matt Pluth had both hits for the Cardinals.

Yankees 16, Mets 6

Ryan Gonzales went 3 for 3 with two RBI, Darby Crowley went 3 for 4 with

three RBI, Chris Gorham had two hits, and Gray Bailey had two hits and

also pitched three solid innings to keep the Yankees in a first-place

tie; Jason Gettler, Brandon Gladu, and Bryce Overend each collected two

hits for the Mets.
