Fountain Valley moves on to NJB National Tournament

The Fountain Valley National Junior Basketball Division 1 All-Star

team reserved a spot in next month’s National Junior Basketball National

tournament by defeating Mission Viejo Sunday, 62-49.

Guard Ricky Hagen scored 20 points by hitting four, three-point shots and

all eight of his free throws, Drew Peterson scored 16 points and had a

game-high 12 rebounds, and Nguyen Dau had 10 points for Fountain Valley,

which earlier had defeated South Huntington Beach in the Area final,

62-49.

In that win, Peterson scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds, Dau hit four,

three-point shots and finished with 13 points, Nico Caputo nabbed 11

rebounds, and Kia Koko blocked three shots.

The NJB National tournament will be held April 7 at The Pyramid at Cal

State Long Beach.
