Softball: Newport gets blanked by University

NEWPORT BEACH - A hot pitcher and cold gloves were the difference

for Newport Harbor High’s softball team in Thursday’s 4-0 nonleague loss

to visiting University.

The Sailors (9-6) committed seven errors, which led to all four runs

scored by the Trojans.

Lisa Huntington had Newport’s lone hit in the game off Uni pitching.

Next up for the Sailors will be Santiago on the road Monday at 3:15 p.m.
