A 27-year-old woman walking to her car was injured Monday afternoon in
Corona del Mar when a motor home caused a chain-reaction accident among
parked vehicles, police said.
The woman suffered minor injuries to her legs when a parked truck was
propelled into her and her car, knocking her down. She was taken to
Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where she was treated for
lacerations.
The accident occurred shortly after noon near the intersection of Iris
Avenue and East Coast Highway. Police said the driver of a 1978 Southwind
motor home locked up his brakes before the collision.
The driver claims he swerved to miss a car coming out of a parking spot.
The motor home, which was pulling a tractor, hit the truck that struck
the woman and her car.
The large vehicle also knocked over a palm tree and jumped the curb.
There were no other injuries.
