Girls water polo: Eight Back Bay stars All-CIF

Newport Harbor High senior Kyndra Cox, a repeat first-team

selection in Division I, headlines eight Newport-Mesa District girls

water polo players selected All-CIF Southern Section by Southern

California coaches.

Corona del Mar, which won the Pacific Coast League and advanced to the

CIF Division IV title game, has three players named to the Division IV

first team.

Senior goalie Arin Hendrickson, freshman driver Danielle Carlson and

freshman Christina Hewko are the aforementioned first-teamers.

Newport Harbor sophomore Katherine Belden and CdM senior Melinda Tucker

are second-team choices in their respective divisions. Belden was a

third-team honoree as a freshman.

CdM sophomore Lauren Guthrie and Harbor senior Ali Taylor are third-team

picks.
