Boys volleyball: CdM sweeps Trojans

CORONA DEL MAR - The Corona del Mar High boys volleyball team

continued its winning ways in the Pacific Coast League Friday, sweeping

host University, 15-9, 15-5, 15-4, to improve to 6-1, 3-0 in league.

Senior Stanford-bound setter Kevin Hansen had 31 assists, 14 digs, six

kills and two aces, while senior Greg Stampley pounded 13 kills and added

six digs.

Forest Mack (nine kills), Chris Shepardson (nine digs and six kills) and

Brian Gallagher (four kills) also chipped in for the Sea Kings, ranked

No. 3 in Orange County.

CdM hosts Back Bay rival Newport Harbor, No. 9 in the county, tonight at

6 in a rematch of last year’s CIF Southern Section Division I

championship match won by the Sailors.
